Megan Valentine

Associate Marriage and Family Therapist

Megan is passionate about working with children, teens, adolescents, young adults, and adults with various concerns, such as depression, anxiety, transitional stages, parent-child dynamics, school related challenges, identity work, and grief. Megan pulls from emotion and self-representation frameworks in her work, such as Internal Family Systems (IFS), Emotion Focused Therapy EFT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Narrative Therapy, and prioritizes the needs and goals of the client(s). Megan believes we all live in systems and dynamics larger than ourselves – such as families, communities, and society – and values how each of those spaces contribute to an individual’s life. She strives to facilitate change toward authenticity and empowerment for her clients.

Megan holds a Master’s of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy from The Family Institute at Northwestern University and a Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology from North Park University. In her spare time, Megan enjoys spending time with her dog, baking, doing puzzles, reading a mystery novel, and trying a new coffee shop.

Megan’s training in Integrative Systemic Therapy (IST) shapes her systems-oriented, strengths-based approach to supporting individuals, couples, and other relational systems from diverse backgrounds. As an LGBTQIA+ affirming therapist, she values building an open, collaborative, and compassionate therapeutic relationship. Drawing from a range of evidence-informed theoretical models, Megan tailors her approach to meet each client’s unique needs and goals. She is committed to helping clients recognize and build upon their existing strengths, empowering them to create meaningful change and move forward in their healing and personal growth.
